Here is a re-cap of our game night in October of 2022. With fun, and games we talked about Unity and celebrated one another. (Ephesians 4 - "I, then, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace: one body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.")

CCC 1090 "In the earthly liturgy we share in a foretaste of that heavenly liturgy which is celebrated in the Holy City of Jerusalem toward which we journey as pilgrims, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God, Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle. With all the warriors of the heavenly army we sing a hymn of glory to the Lord; venerating the memory of the saints, we hope for some part and fellowship with them; we eagerly await the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, until he, our life, shall appear and we too will appear with him in glory."

In many places, children together with parents and leaders celebrate the liturgy of the word in a separate place. Some parishes have been celebrating like this for a number of years. In other places a liturgy of the word with children is in its infancy or at the planning stage. This is our first "CLOW"(Children's Liturgy of the Word) for the 2022-2023 school year on October 23rd, 2022

An intro night to speaking about genders and God's design for us all.... "Pairs of all creatures in which there was the breath of life came to Noah into the ark. Those that entered were male and female; of all creatures they came, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in." -Genesis 7:15-16 |

December 2nd, 2022... Our Second Encounter Night for Youth This Year on the theme of "Advent" and "Christmas"
"She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son and they shall name him Emmanuel,” which means “God is with us.” - Matthew 1:21 |

Journey with us in this video that was a night of fun, rest, and comfort with our youth ministry on December 16th, 2022. Noah is a masculine given name derived from the Biblical figure Noah (נוֹחַ) in Hebrew. It is most likely of Babylonian origin from the word "nukhu" meaning repose or rest, which is possible in view of the Sumerian/Babylonian source of the flood story. Pajamas are usually worn as nightwear with bare feet and without undergarments. They are often worn for comfort by people in their homes, especially by children, especially on the weekend.

A safe space to build community. Hebrews 11:7 - “By faith Noah, being warned by God by things things yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes from faith.”
May we follow the example of Noah. A game night with our youth ministry kids. |
A youth group night reflecting on both "structure" and "trusting God" looking at the structure of Noah's ark in Genesis 6:14-16 and how there was no steering mechanism. We also created and agreed to our community practices in order to establish more structure to our group.
|
Looking at the 10 generations leading up to Noah from Adam (Genesis 6:1-2, 28-29) we looked back on the history of the Jornada movement in our parish and how we need to choose to walk with Jesus ourselves. "This is the record of the descendants of Adam. When God created human beings, he made them in the likeness of God; he created them male and female. When they were created, he blessed them and named them humankind... When Lamech was one hundred and eighty-two years old, he begot a son and named him Noah, saying, “This one shall bring us relief from our work and the toil of our hands, out of the very ground that the LORD has put under a curse.”

Our Youth Ministry along with Salve Regina Catholic Academy hosted a Parents vs. kids basketball tournament in honor Kobe and Gianna Bryant the evening before the anniversary of the helicopter crash they lost their lives in. With Kobe as an example of a practicing Catholic, and a family man we felt it was right to honor him and his life in this event.
