On Aug. 24, 2023, the Diocesan Vicar of Education (Msgr. David Cassato) joined the pastor of Parish St. Michael- St. Malachy (Fr. Matin Curtin, OFM Cap) to bless and dedicate the parish’s new evangelization center.
The new Solanus Casey Center for Youth and Families occupies a building that was once used by the school for additional classroom space and specialized classes. Now, the parish Youth Ministry program will use the building, but they hope to expand to offer child care service for parents who are attending other functions in church, and it will also continue to serve the migrant community by offering hot meals, clothing and accessories.
When the Salve Regina choral program begins, we will be meeting in the music room in the new center.
Blessed Solanus was chosen as patron for the building because he served St. Michael parish for a year after his ordination and his cause is now up for canonization.
